Message to the Community

Julie L. Conrique, M.S. - President, Pine Creek Foundation

The leadership point of view I bring to Pine Creek Foundation is based on the compelling belief that every person is valuable and was created with unique abilities and purpose. It is my intent to serve in a manner that leaves a legacy. I want to inspire you to utilize your unique gifts and to experience both success and significance for yourselves and the benefit of others.

My early experiences taught me that attitude in part drives how I live. Demonstrating courage, tenacity and a joyful purpose was challenged after a serious equestrian accident where I suffered a fracture of the hip and subsequent nerve damage. In the aftermath I found the pain and struggle to walk an enormous test of my attitude, courage and faith. However, I now have the capacity to identify with the disabled community in ways I never imagined. This has created an even greater desire for me to make a difference in the lives of others.

As I seek to inspire people to experience both success and significance, you can expect the following things from me in my leadership role:

I will respect and affirm you by listening to your concerns and perspective. Ultimately, I am committed to help you soar beyond even your expectations and dare to dream for the future. An important part of accomplishing this is to encourage all of us to be led by our goals rather than our fears.

I have a passion for people and believe that we can all be a living resource for each other. The capacity to show sensitivity and responsiveness to others requires certain awareness. True leadership challenges us to have the courage to develop this awareness.

We have a strong mission statement and core values that will guide our behavior within our organization. They are guidelines for us to make decisions, problem solve and hire staff. Together we will look for teaching and learning moments around the importance and relevance of our mission statement and core values.

I am committed to creating an environment where teaching and learning are esteemed. Your feedback and suggestions are welcomed. Hopefully this will lead to a safe environment where appreciation and mutual trust grows.

A team effort is necessary if much is to be accomplished. What I expect from you is the following:

In his insightful book, Journey of Desire, John Eldredge pens this perspective: "God shares with mankind his own artistic capacity and then sets us down in a paradise of unlimited potential. It is an act of creative invitation." I invite you to step up to the plate with the courage and trust to see the possibilities of what we can do together. I encourage you to set goals and to keep these in front of you. Believe you can accomplish these things rather than giving in to your fears.

Together we can experience both success and significance. Our challenge is to engage the heart, mind and soul in order to enhance the quality of life for ourselves and others. The result is ongoing legacy of bringing wholeness to others.

"To enhance the quality of life within the disabled community by providing resources that inspire wholeness through teaching and learning"
